A hockey metaphor for Mike & Antje

Reading the earlier post about the chronicles of Mike and Antje, I couldn’t help but relate it to a heinously hilarious/epic failure of a hockey play I witnessed last season.  Anyone who knows me is aware that I can compare hockey to pretty much anything, and this clip seemed fitting.

Has anyone you know ever used a completely careless mistake on your part to actively harm you/your emotions?  My favorite quote from the clip comes at the 50 second mark when the announcer says, “That’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen.  Patrik Stefan (the player that flubbed the empty net goal), you should be embarrassed for what you just did.  That does not belong in the National Hockey League.”

To make matters worse, Mr. Stefan was a 1st overall pick who completely failed to live up to expectations and is now retired from hockey.

Good luck, Mike.  Don’t let Antje become your failed empty net goal attempt.
